This week's issue of the New Zealand Sporting and Dramatic Review should be readily bought up by the public, for as an illustrative medium, it is par excellence. The centre' pages are featured with pictures of the entry of the French troops into the Ruhr towns, and interesting scenes in Essen during the occupation. The National Rifle Association's meeting at Trentham occupies a prominent position, while the Hamilton Motor Cycle Sports at Claudolands, the Rangitikei Motor Cycle Club's gathering,- the Military Carnival in the Auckland Domain are treated generously from an illustrated point of view, making up a truly splendid showing. The Duke of York's betrothal to Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon is'the subject of an animated page of photographs. The Tc Aroha Jockey Club's annual meeting is represented in a comprehensive manner, and among a host of other up-to-date subjects are the motoring fatality at Formy Levells, Prime Minister photographed at Te Aroha, N.Z.A. in Camp at Murray's Bay, the War Memorial at Whangarei, Otahuhu Trotting Club's recent meeting, and also excellent photographs of the City Football Club, winners of the Thames Rugby Union Championship, Edendale School Football Team, Wellington City Salvation Army Silver Band, etc. Boxing patrons are catered for in photographs of various exponents.
