THE LITERARY WORLD

MSS LLOYD GEORGE BREAKS INTO PRINT In contrast to the cvcr-aetive pen of Mrs Asquith, it is interesting to hear that Dame Margaret Lloyd George has made her first literary effort in the form of an introduction to a book on babies, entitled, ‘‘Joy Is My Name,” by Nicholas Fay. “If there is a more fascinating subject than the one treated by the outhor I have yet to hear of it,” says Dame Margaret. “It is a new and beautiful experience to be introduced into an imaginary world of little people—a world that is an amusing travesty Of our own —and to look at ourselves, so to speak, through their eyes. “Politicians will find much to amuse them in the parts dealing with Parliament and a general election in babyland. This very human, little book will —I feel sure —find its way to many mothers’ hearts —and to men’s as well. I recommend it as a happy, tender tonic in a world where there is much to sadden and perplex us.”
