ANNUAL SPRING SALE DRAUGHTS REACH £55 TO £7l The annual spring horse fair at Cambridge commenced on Tuesday and will cover a period of four days ending tomorrow. Visitors arc present from far and near for the event, which is the biggest sale in the Dominion, and is considered one of the most important commercial fixtures held in the Waikato during the year. Accommodation is taxed to the utmost at the three local hotels, and the various boardinghouses and many farmers have had to depend on friends for lodging. The Farmers’ Op-op. Auctioneering Co. Ltd., report : 4—Bidding was not very lively on thej opening day, being noticeably keener On Tuesday we offered 140 unbrokens, which sold*as follows: —18 best draughts, £25 10/ to £SO 10/; poorer sorts £lB to £2O; best light horses £ll to £l4 10/; others £6 to £S. On the same day we offered over 100 broken draughts. The Rest of the heavy draughts made from £4O to £52 10/; poorer sorts £2B to £B7 10/; good medium draughts £3B to £37;_ spring cart horses £lB to £25 10/. Yesterday wo yarded 250 draughts, which were keenly competed for, being sold at the following prices:—First class heavy draughts £55 to £7l; medium quality £4O to £4B; poorer kinds £3O to £BS 10/; good medium draughts £3B to £4O; others £2B to £B. 10/; good springcart horses £25 to £29 .10/; others £lO to £l9.
