At Morrinsville on Friday last we yarded 1260 head of cattle and 600 sheep. The demand for all classes of cattle was good and with the exception of a few pens of young cattle the whole yarding changed hands at the following prices:—Heavy fat steers £lB to £23 5/; lighter weights £l3 10/ to £l6 7/; fat cow’s £l2 15 /to £ls 15/; medium £lO 5/ to £l2; fresh conditioned cows £7 10/ to £9 7/6; good framed store cows £5 5/ to £7; poorer sorts £3 to £4 15/; cows with calves at foot £5 2/6 to £6 15/; Syr steers £8 5/ to £lO 11/; 2 to 21yr steers £6 9/ to £7 18/; 2yr empty heifers £6 14/ to £7 10/; 18 to 20 months heifers £5 7/6 to £6 6/; good yearling heifers £4 13/ to £4 19/; late calves 32/6 to £2 15/; best dairy cows made up to £lB 10/; others £.12 to £l4; choice heifers £l6 to £lB 10/; medium quality £l2 10/ to £l4; backwmrd and poorer heifers £8 to £lO 10/; fat wethers £2 5/; prime fat ewes £2 2/ to £2 4/3; fat ewes 32/6 to 37/0; fat hoggets 34/6; ew’cs and lambs 37/9.
