CAMBRIDGE CLUB.

On {Saturday afternoon a contest too : ; place on the Cambridge lawns for a trophy presented by Mrs Murray, in which considerable interest was taker. J he members are divided into two sechons, A and B, the former being cor sidered the better players. In the com test for this trophy the pairs consists 1 of one from each section, and in giving the results we mention the A player first in each instance:—Mesdames McDermott and Walshe defeated Mesdames Murray and McCann; Mesdames Orpxford and Simpson beat Mesdames Richanlson and Hall. In the final MesdamoCroxford and Simpson beat MesdameMcDermott and Walshe by one point, after a most exciting and well-contest-ed game.

Ihc club has several new players,who are taking great interest in the gun e and are coming on splendidly and an. striving to be classed amongst the A players, and consequently they miss m opportunity of practising.
