Kaipaki News.
(Own Correspondent.) Great excitement prevailed throughout the whole district, during the past week, on account of so many young (people preparing their costumes for the plain, poster and fancy dress ball which eventuated on Wednesday evening last, in the Kaipaki Hell- There is no doubt that a function of. this kind appeals to the younger element of both sexes, as being something worthy of their support, and had prizes been given for the best costumes, the judges would, we believe, have found some difficulty in awarding them. Everything went off well, the night being fine and cold, and the dancers seemed to thoroughly enjpy the fun. Supper ’ was handed round in the usual manner, and all present seemed satisfied with the good things provided., The music was supplied by Miss McFarlane, of Cambridge, assisted by Misses Bell and Cowley. It was all that could be desired, and reflects great credit upon those who were responsible for that part of the function. Great credit is due to Messrs Cowley and Kemp - for the manner in which they carried out, the duties of. M.Os., the strangers present being more than, satisfied with the courtesy extended to them. The Hall looked quite gay with the decorations of various descriptions, and when the floor became covered with the numerous dancers in quite a variety of, colors it looked quite a picture..
