New Comic Opera.

THE ARCADIANS.

On Wednesday evening next, the 4th February, we are to have introduced to us “The Aicadiahfs,” the tuneful and sparkling musical comedy which proved such an enormous success in Australia and the four big cities of .New Zealand under the Meynell, Clarke and Gunn inanagement. Its revival by the Company to appear at the Town Hall on Wednesday evening, has been another succession of triumphs. It will be staged on an elaborate scale,, and in the same complete manner as characterised its production in the large centres. The New York Dramatic Mirror says of “The Arcadians” : “It is one of the raciest, most sparkling and most tuneful musical plays that has yet come .across the water. It is neither prudish, nor slow, but its affect is not gauged by the amount of blueness that can be squeezed into each act like so many of home grown manufacture. It is a sure winner, and will run for many more months to come. We note that down under the Australians have taken kindly to the play, and the Australians are a discriminating people.’ 7 The box plan is at Philps stationer.
