■***■ "3E - * At the opening of the Casein factory at Manawaru last week, the chairman, Mr F. J. Eastwood, in speaking of the rise in lands values, and the necessity that would arise in the matter of closer cultivation, incidentally said that when he asked Mr Pedersen, the Government expert, to make a few remarks, he had said he was not prepared to give a speech, as.he was only there as an instructor in casein manufacture. “Don’t you speak in such gatherings in ?” queried Mr Eastwool. “Oh, no,” replied the inpector, “they have no time for that down there, they are right out for the dollars.”
