Mr B. H. Hiley, general manager of the New Zealand Railways, paid a hurried visit of inspection to the Cambridge railway station a few days ago. It is rumoured that Sir John Bindlay will oppose the Hon. Herdman for Wellington North at the next general elections. Among the Auckland winners of University Scholarships was Ramsay Winter, formerly a pupil at the Cambridge District High SchoolIt is understood that Mr R. Ashton, who tor the past two years has been assisting Rev. W. J. Gow, Presbyterian Minister at Cambridge, will be leaving this district shortly.
