THE PUBLIC HEALTH.

The Public Health Department is to be commended for the vigorous measures taken for arresting the diseases which threaten oui Dominion. But not only this, the Department, by means of instruction, is doing much to prevent such diseases gaining a foothold in our midst. We enjoy in Cambridge almost complete immunity from the more serious forms of disease, but we should be none the less careful to preserve the best sanitary conditions without which we cannot hope for continuance of these healthful surroundings. With the object of encouraging interest in the matter and instructing our residents, and especially the younger members, Inspector Bennett, who is an Associate of the Royal Sanitary Institute, and is an enthusiast on the matter, will give an address next Monday evenin?, in the smaller Borough hall, at half-past seven o'clock, when the subject will be illustrated by pictures. His Worship the Mayor, Mr G. Dickinson, will preside. Mr Bennett will also show a number of pictures on Boy Scout work. The admission will be free, and it is hoped a large number will take advantage of.the opportunity.
