CAMBRIDGE STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company Ltd. report:— At Cambridge yesterday, we yarded 700 head of fat cattle and IGOO sheep and lambs. A large attendance of buyers were present from all parts of the district, Hikutaia, Paeroa, and Matamata, and report a successful sals. One hundred and twenty fat cattle of prime quality yarded in excess of requirements, but all sold before leaving the yards excepting 2 pens of steers and a pen of cows. The best steers realised from £8 5s to £8 17s 6d; lighter weights, £6 15s to £7 16s; fat cows and heifers, .€4 15s to £5 7s 6d ; aged heavy cows, £8 10s to £4 4s; fresh conditioned cows, £2 14s to £3 10s; store cows, £1 12s 6d to £2 5s ; yearlings to 18-months steers, £2 6s; Jta £3 14s; mixed yearlings, £1 15s to £2 4s. This season’s calves were offered in large numbers, and all those well grown sold at from 19s 6d to 255; smaller sorts, Pis 6d to 18s 6d; empty 18-months heifers, £1 17s 6d to £2 2s; yearling heifers, £1 15s to £1 18s. Sheep sold reactily, fat and forward lambs realising 10s Id, store lambs Bs, full-mouthed ewes 12s 6d to 14s, store wethers 14s 6d, fat wethers 17s 6d, fat hoggets (in wool) 17s Id, 800 ewes and lambs 16s 6d per couple. We had a large entry of pigs, which sold readily. Young pigs sold at 12s 6d to 15s, slips at 19s to 255. Springing heifers realised £3 15s to £4 10s; 18-months to 8-year bulls, £2 10s to £4, OHAUPO STOCK SALE. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— At Ohaupo on Tuesday we had a fair yarding of cattle, principally calves and yearlings. A good demand existed for this class, and several trucks were bought by King Country clients. Best calves, mixed sexes, made from 22s to 265; others, 17s to 19s; one pen, all steers, with a few yearlings in, 82s; mixed yearlings, 87s; 18-months steers, £8 Is; tat cows, £4 10s to £4 15s; a few bulls, £2 5s to £4 10s. A medium draught mare changed hands at £25 10s; aged mare and foal, £ll 15s.
