The following is the result of the Junior National Scholarships, tenable for three years from January, 1906, value £lO a year, with the addition of £3O a year if required to live away from home: Marks. (Max. 800). 1. Marks, Rowland O. C. (Devonport) 654 2. Hames, Alice I (Paparoa) ... 635 3. Caradus, William (Beresfordstreet) ... 617 4. Blight, William T. (Te Aroha) 613 5. Neal, Marion (Cambridge) ... 610 6. Cahill, Margaret A. (Kaikohe) 577 (School under 41 average).
Miss Marion Neal, who is of a bright disposition, is the daughter of Mr G. J. Neal, fanner, of Ivarapiro, and is 12 years of ago. She has been a pupil of the Cambridge District High School, and although she had to ridgJopr miles to school, she has been very regular in her attendance and therefore thoroughly deserves her reward. It is the intention of Miss Neal’s parents to send their daughter to Auckland to school. She will be greatly missed by her schoolmates here, as there was no more popular little pupil in the school. Mr W. R. C. Walker, 8.A., headmaster, deserves to be congratulated on the success of his scholar,who has now before her every promise of a brilliant scholastic career.
