IMPORTATION OP POTATOES. (l'Kll PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, Tin's Day. The Ventura brought 38S0 bags of potatoes from 'Frisco, which were landed in good condition. It is believed this is the first occasion Auckland has had to import potatoes from California ; the importation being necessary owing to the scarcity in New Zealand' and Australia at the present time. The steamer has a consignment of b7S7 cases of onions for Auckland and New Zealand ports. There was also a considerable consignment of potatoes for Australia by the Ventura. MRS YATES DEFEATED.
