CONTRABAND OF WAR.
AMERICA AND BRITAIN CONFERRING. Received 9.15 a m., 2nd. London, October 1. Friendly conversations are proceeding between Sir Edward Grey and the American Ambassador concerning Britain's action in preventing Germany receiving contraband and conditional contraband from neutral countries through neutral ports, thus emphasising the virtual blockade of German ports and the extinction of German commerce.
