A TENSE SITUATION. AUSTRIA AND SERVIA. AN ULTIMATUM. Received 12.20 a.m., 23rd. Vienna, July 22. The Austrian demand to be presented to Servia this week will request the immediate prosecution of the Servian subjects compromised in the Sarajevo assassination, and the suppression of the Pan-Servian organisation agitating the monarchy, according to the Neue Freie Presse. It will also express the desire for better supervision of the AustroServian frontier and the revision of Servia's policy towards the monarchy. The paper adds that -IS hours will l.c allowed for a reply. The Russian newspapers resent Austria's attitude towards Soryia and refer ominously to the Russian mobilisation.
