ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

Herbert Lockwuod, aged 20, was arrested last night on a charge of drunkenness. Later, while being removed to the hospital, he died in the ambulance, it is supposed from a fit. Lock wood was evidently _ a remittance man in straitened circumstances. He had a recurn railway ticket to Tauniarunui.' Oamaru, Thursday.
The death is announced, after a brief illness, of Mr W. C. McDougall, aged 60, the local manager of the National Bank. Deceased was a very popular official.
