WAIKATO PRESBYTERY.

The usual meeting of the Waikuto Presbytery was held in St. Andrew's Church, Hamilton, on Thursday. There was a very full attendance, and Rev. W. C. Blair, moderator, presided. The application of Te Puke fur a loan to build a church was agreed to, and plans fur the new building were passed. Jt was agreed to ordain Mr Layton, of Pio Pio, as a home missionary. A call from the Wakanui congregation to Rev. W. C. yiair, of Te Aroha, was laid on the table.— Messrs Herbert and Barber, representing Te Aroha, spoke of the high esteem in which Mr Blair was held, the good work he had done while at Te Aioha, and how ably he had been Seconded by Mrs Blair. They regretted very much his going, and recognised it as a public loss, but would place no obstacle in the way. Various members of the Presbyteiy spoke in high tortus of Mr Bair, who replied at length, giving his reasons for deciding to accept the call should it be placed in his hands.—lt was moved that the call be sustained and placed in Mr Blair's hands. —Mr Blair signified his acceptance. Rev. J. Lowry was appointed moderator of Te Aroha and Morrinsville.
