The steamer Idaho reports that she was signalled in the Atlantic by the barque Edinburgh with a request for food. The crew of the barquewere found to be starving. No llour, Lread, biscuits, tea, or coffee had been available for sixteen days, as the gales experienced had delayed the barque's passage. London, February Hi. The Mecklenberg-Schwerin divorce petition has been dismissed. The Court decided that it had no jurisdiction. The police are investigating the theft of an automatic pistol from the wireless room of the steamer Empress of Ireland, similar to that with which Reeks was killed. It is believed to have been stolen during Reeks' voyage. The theft was only discovered on Saturday owing to dry docking. Robson, cashier of the London office of the Commercial Bank of Australia, has been sentenced to 18 months in the second division. He said he had no recollection of how he disposed of the missing money. Robson pleaded guilty of stealing £7OOO in notes from the bank, and accounted for only £4500. A picture show manager named Sydney Levy, junr., was sentenced to iix weeks' imprisonment with hard labour on Saturday for throwing ammonia and' severely burning Arthur Groom who intervened in a light between the Levy brothers.
