AMUSEMENTS.

THE KING’S THEATRE. The public of Hamilton are showing their appreciation of the King’s Pictures in a marked fashion by very satisfactory audiences. On Saturday night the change of programme screened was greeted by a good and enthusiastic audience. The A.B. masterpiece “A Romany Tragedy,” was much applauded, and the favourite Bison subject, “A Warrior’s Faith,” also pleased the audience. “The Ends of the Earth” is a very fine production, the Northern forests and dog sleighs adding very considerably to a thrilling drama. Admirers of cowboy drama were well catcied for in “The Romance of Bar O." The educational film, “Preparation of Tapioca,” proved very interesting, and the comics were all very laughable, especially “Calino. Foreman of Works.’” As advertised in our column there will be no pictures shown at the King’s this evening. EMPIRE PICTURE COMPANY. The final production on Saturday night of the excellent series comprising last week’s programme drew another good house at the Town Hail, Hamilton. That really magnificent picture “Foo to Richelieu” was again shown, and created a most favourable impression. On Wednesday evening next another of these high class series that characterise the productions of the Empire Company will be included in the new programme, namely, “The Lyons’ Mail,” the drama which was so closely associated with the name of the late Sir Henry Irving, and which created tuch a furore a few weeks ago in Sydney and Melbourne, when staged by his son, Mr H. B. Irving. The pictorial representation is a most fascinating one. The film is some 2500 ft in length, and the story from start to finish does not contain a dull moment. It is acted and staged on a scale of great magnificence. Accompanying this star piece will he another splendid programme of varied subjects, all of a most interesting description.
