WIIATAWIIATA RACING CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the above club was held at the Whatawliata Hotel on Saturday evening, Mr W. D. Laxoa being in the chair. The secretary reported a license having been received from the Minister for Internal Affairs. It was decided to advertise the programme in the local papers. A course committee was appointed, with authority to have improvements effected forthwith. Mr J. Chadwick was appointed handicapper, and several new members were elected.

The following arc the results:— Pott Cooper Hurdles: Gold Bird 1, Milo 2, Master Paul 3. Scratched: Nova. Won by a neck. Time, 2min 57 45see. Idealism fell at the last fence. Cressy Welter: Culprit 1, Bronze 2, St. Toney 3. Scratched: Query and Clanmevia. Culjjnt led all the way. Won by a length. Time, Imin Msec. Seymour Handicap: Pilgrim’s Way 1, Aphaea 2, Odessa 3. Scratched: Query and White Flag. Won by two lengths. Time, Imin 15 2-ssec. Members’ Plate: Equitas 1. Bryon 2, Ireland 3. Scratched: Faunua and I,about Day. Equitas led throughout and won by a length. Time, Imin 27sec. Pioneer Stakes: Gnome I. Anna Carlovna 12, Star Dancer 3. Scratched: May Datrymple and Peg. Won by two lengths. Time, Imin 1 4-ssec. Stead Memorial Cup: Counterfeit 1, Miscount 2, Vice-Admiral 3. All started. Won with the greatest case by twelve lengths. Eight lengths between second and third. Time, 2rnin Gscc. Randolph Handicap: Gold Battery 1, llurik 2. Merry Frank 3. Scratched; Culprit and Kills. Feudal ton Handicap: Rose Noble 1, Bonny Glen 2, Bitklino 3. The amount put through the total isulur for the day was £34,645, against £22,312 on the last day last year. The total for the meeting was £137,389, against £90.142 last year. The stewards of the Canterbury Jockey Club met during the afternoon to consider the running of Gold Bird in the Hurdle races at the meeting, and as a result disqualified the horse and the trainer (G. Pritchard) and rider (Coleman) on the first and second days for twelve months, for inconsistent running.
