One of the features of the camp is the very marked improvement shown by the recruits in the short time which they have already had in camp. In the afternoon the regiment was exercised in troop drill mounted, and a start was made in branding all the Government property on issue to f'e troops. It is now estimated that: the value of the horses in camp will bo upwards of £7OOO, Q iite the most popular place in camp is the citizens’ committee’s regimental institute, which was again packed last evening. Tonight a camp lire concert is being held at 7.30, when all visitors will be welcomed. This afternoon a football match will be played, the result of a challenge by the D Squadron, which has been taken up by the C Squadron. Mr W. Burna-Smith will act as referee.
