Land For Settlement.

The areas of land to be opened for settlement during the month of February, counting that already opened, total no less than 1,126,613 acres, and are spread over districts throughout the whole of the Dominion. So far as the Auckland Province is concerned, there are a number of sections, embracing a considerable area, to be thrown open. The following is the list: —Monday, February 21: For application for cash, for occupation with right of purchase, or for renewable lease, second class land —12 sections, Tutamoe survey district, from 304 acres to 1088 acres, total area, 8060 acres, price from £2BO to £BSO per section; seven sections, Hukerenui, Motatau, Whangape, and Tutamoe survey districts —from 51J acres to 589 acres, total area, 1250 acres, price from £BO to £6OO per section; for renewable lease, third class land—Section No. 10. Block 1., Katikati survey district, 120J acres, annual rental £1 12s; National Endowment land, for renewable lease, second class land 14J«ections, Makctu and Otanewainuku survey districts, from 981 acres to 880 acres, total area, 5170 acres, annual rental from £4 to £4B 8s per section; 18 sections, Rotoma survey district, from 229 acres to 724 acres, total area, 8771 acres, annual rental from £lB 8s to £47 12s per section. Friday. February 25: For sale by public auction at the Survey Office, Hamilton, town land—ll sections, town of Ngaruawahia, from 84 perches to 1 rood 19 perches, total area, 3 acres and 28 perches, upset price from £l6 to £2O per section. Large areas are also to be thrown open during the month in Hawke’s Bay, Wellington, Marlborough, Westland, Otago, and Southland.
