At a meeting of the Hamilton Rugby Union last night, Mr C Speight, on behalf of the Union, presented Mr C. Coote with a handsome set of razors as a memento of his stay in Hamilton in connection with football. After a very flattering speech, in which be referred to the good qualities of Mr Coote, Mr Speight proposed the health of the guest, which was drunk with gusto. Speeches were also made by Messrs Flynn and McGarrigle, who both testified to the esteem in which the guest is held by the football community and otherwise. At a meeting of the Hamilton Band Contest Committee last evening, the chairman, Mr J. R. Fow, on behalf of the members (if the executive committee, presented Mr M. Darke, secretary, with a handsomely framed photographic enlargement of the committee as an appreciation of their connection during the contest. Mr Darke, in a suitable reply, thanked the members for their kindness, and said his work had been considerably lightened by their assistance.
