Harapepe.

{ There passed away on Sunday last I one of our oldest residents,in the per- ; son of Mrs Matilda Barker aged 77 j years. The deceased lady had been j ailing for a considerable time and j spent the last three years of her life jin bed. It is 24 years since de- : ceased's husband came to settle in ! Harapepe from the Old Country and j only three years after their arrival | the deceased was unfortunate in losj ing her husband. Four of a family , are left to mourn their loss—viz. Messrs Joseph, Harold and Miss Barker and Mrs D. Rollo, to whom much sympathy is extended. The funeral took place on Wednesday and was 1 well attended, the Rev. Mr Hislop of Te Awamutu, officiating at the grave.
