Cambridge High School Committee.

The above committee met last evening, there being present: Messrs J. Lundon, chairman, A. F. Stone, R. T. Tudehope, J. A. Hair, E. J. Wilkinson, and J. Watson. The chairman reported that the recent schooi excursion had been successful, financially and otherwise. The Railway guarantee had been more than met, and there was no reason why another excursion should not be held next year, probably to some other place. The treasurer reported that the credit balance was about £l7. The chairman said they were no further ahead with the technical school matter. They had written time and again, and had not even received a copy of the plans as promised . —lt was resolved to wire the Education Board and try to facilitate matters. The return of the attendance for the quarter ending March 31, 1908, was shown to be 204. The following accounts were passed for payment: Mrs Linzey, 3s 9d; E. J. Wilkinson, £2 19j 9d; Miss Crighton, £1 17s 6d; W. Souter, £1 7s. It was decided to get an estimate for tarring and sanding a portion of the school grounds, and that the Board be asked to defray half the cost. With regard to the miniature rifle range, the chairman said the headmaster had sent away for the targets. The headmaster reported that he had had two prizes offered for shooting competitions.
