BOARD OF EDUCATION.
(by telegraph—own correspondent) Auckland, This Day. At the meeting of the Board of Education yesterday Mr Leddra de Gallaia was appointed to Hangatiki school, and Miss Ethel V. Gapes to be assistant at Raurim u school. A letter of condolence was authorised to be sent to Mr Rice, of Waihou, who lately lost his wife. The resignation of Mr Jas. Harvey, of the Hangatiki school, was received.
Auckland, This Day. Messrs Greenslade and Edgecutnbe, who were appointed a committee to report on the requirements of Tau-ranga-o-Moana and Matamata, recommend the erection of a small school at Matamata be increased to provide for 100 scholars. A Hamilton application for the appointment of a physical drill instructor was declined, as the Board had no authority to so provide.
