CAMBRIDGE GOLF CLUB.

Pkefect golfing weather marked the opening day of this club (Saturday last). A bright sun and keen southerly breeze made a tramp over the links pleasant both to players and onlookers. Between 60 and 70 members and friends were present, and were entertained at afternoon tea by Mrs Hunter and other lady golfers. For the first time the club's new pavilion was used, aud it proved highly useful, if not a very ornamental structure. The club may fairly congratulate itself on its prospects at the opening of the Beason. Thanks to the energy and thcughtfulness of Mr H. G. Skeet, the secretary, the greens are iu fair condition, with a good sole of trass which should improve with treatment, etc. The lies are generally good between the greens. A short round of six ho'es was played on Saturday by five or Bix foursomes and a few pairs of players.
