MEETING AT CAMBRIDGE.

TO TUE EDITOR. Sir,—The meetiug to be held in Cambridge on Tuesday evening is of such importance to the children attending the public schools of the district that all parents should make special effort to be present. Much erroneous opinion exists as to what constitutes 'Technical and Manual Training.' Many parents are uot favourably disposed towards it on that account, and for tho same reason even some teachers think lightly of it. Mr George's visit will instruct us all. Our present eduoatiou system, though admirable, falls short in many respects, and the project now before us aims at supplying tho deficiencies and rendering the system of much greater benefit. The meeting is intended to promote the introduction to our district of the advantages conferred by the statute of 1900, which up till now has been almost a dead letter. I therefore urge all interested in education to attend tho meeting.—l am, etc., _ F. J. Brooks.
