About 1 p.m. to-day Mr Dingle brought to Hnntly the news «f the dedh, by accident, of James Mulliwell, a middle* aged roan, employed hy Mr L. 1 1 . Man is, ?en. While rlrivmv along the road past Mr Harris' farm Mr Dingle noticed a body lying under a large heap of timber. Ou olenitis; away the wood, it was found lo hi lliiit of deceased. It would appear that Halliwell was eagatsed in stacking timber, end, t;> tin so, n«ed some of the planks as a scaffold. This b'oke, pre-, oipitatitig him to the grouud. The stack seems to have bille.'i with him as it almost covered the body. Death is Ruppo rid to have occurred inslantateously about au hour before the body was discovered.
Mr J. S. Bond, coroner, held an inquest yesterday. Paiticulars not. yet to hand.
