A THRILLING EXPERIENCE,

(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Aitckland, Last Night. The crew of tho Lord of the Isles, which was wrecked at Kaipara on Tuesday night, have arrived in Auckland. The vessel struck on the north spit. There was a heavy gale and she becan to draft into the bight, bumping heavily. The decks were swept fore and aft, audi the vessel began to settle down. . The crew had to hang on to anything to save themselves from being , washed overboard.

. The masts went by the board and tho top sides of the hull were lifted off and the vessel broke in half, but the afte;part of the top sides still clung to the hull, seas breaking over it. The crew being washed off one by one, were saved by their comrade?. At three o'clock in the morning the poop deck and the top of the cabin, on which all gathered, suddenly broke loose from the' wreck, and, forming a raft, drifted ashore with the men, the perilous journey being made safety. The crew reached the Kaipara lighthouse, where they were looked after by the keepers.
