A wing of Welbeck Abbey, the seat of tbo Duke of Portland, was burned. The pictures and furniture were saved. (Keoeived October 7, 5.40 p.m) London, October 6. The housekeeper of Welbeck Abbey who was almost suffocated, rescued the Duke of Portland's children with difficulty.; . The Duke aud Duchess of Portland were absent at Caithness. The damage by the fire is estimated at £25,000. Much silk and tapestry was destroyed. ___________
