One of the lady teacbers (says the Lytteltou Times) speaking at the meeting of the Educational Institute recently, said that while she felt, as they all did, that women teachers should be better paid, she was terribly afraid that the agitation would result iu the reduction of men's salaries, instead of the iuereabing of their own. The position of the woman as wage-earner was au anomalous one, and was becoming more so every day. The speaker said she thought that if men were better paid they would bo able to settle down and keep a wife and family ; they would find many women would be glad to retire from the hurry and bustle of work, and take up that avocation for which they were beat fitted. These sentiments were greeted with hearty applause from both the women and men teachers present at the meeting. Sir Thomas Liptou lias recently given to the world his recipe far success iu business.
