COLONIAL CASUALTIES. London. October 1. THE following casualties aro reported : —Prh ates Hartley and Lemon, New South Wales, and Private Hallett, South Australian, died of enterio fever. BOERS CAPTURE A CONVOY. EXTENSION OF LEAVE TO VOLUNTEERS. ROBERTS' APPEAL TO EMPLOYERS. THE CLOSE OF THE CAMPAIGN. (Received October 3, 11 p.m.) London, October 3. The Boers on the Natal frontier captured a convoy, wounding several of the South African Volunteers and capturing others. Lord Roberts has appealed to employers to extend their leave to enable volunteers to see the approaching close of the campaign. RETURN OF INVALIDS. Received Octobers, 11 p.m.) Hobart, October 3. The Wakanui has brought the following invalided New Zealanders:— Troopers J. Cabote, E. Willis, J. Lundon, D. Fraser, R. Colhoun, S. Templeton, R. Wallace, R. Woodley, J. A. Clark, S. W. Cubitt, and Corporal Williams of Roberts' Horse.
