IMPERIAL ELECTIONS.
SPEECH BY CAMPBELLBANNERMAN. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] (BY ELECTRIC TELEGRWII-COPYRIGHT.) London, September 28. Mr J. Powell Williams (Liberal Unionist), in his address to the electors of South Birmingham, states undoubtedly that the Irish party will hamper any Liberal Administration which may come into power, and will resist any increase in Britain's power. The Irish party, he says, will not vote for the expenditure necessary to ensure military reforms. Mr Geo. Wyndham attempted to address the electors at Battersea last night in support of the Unionist candidate, but was howled down by supporters of John Burns, the labour candidate. Sir Hracourt, speaking at Rhymney, deprecated the Liberal party adopting the name and garb of their Imperialist opponents. Dr. Clark is persisting in his candidature for Caithness.
Mr John Morley, owing to indisposition, is conducting his campaign by proxy. Mr John Penn (Conservative), mem> ber for Lewisham, and the Hon. Win. Smith (Conservative), member for Strand, have been re-elected unopposed. London, September '6O. Mr Campbell-Bannerman, in the course of a speech at Eochdale, said that Mr Chamberlain's despatches with regard to South Africa were not provocative, but that his speeches had excited suspicion. South Wolverhampton, East and West Manchester, North-west Swansea. Lord George Hamilton, when speaking at Lambeth, was shouted down. Members have been re-elected unopposed for Eernruouth, Toxteth East and Toxteth West, Belfast Divisions, Dublin Harbour and Dublin, St. Patrick's Division.
