FOOTBALL.

RAGLAN V. KAWHIA. Kawiiia representatives of the football element were so delighted with their reception and entertainment by their Raglan friends that on the occasion of their last meeting on the football Held they could not rest till the return match was arranged. As several of the Raglan players found it impossible to go over to Kawhia, the latter team, like true sports, decided that " Mahomet must go to the Mountain,'' and the result, was that the second match eventuated in Raglan on Saturday hut. The visitors came over with the determination to win, and succeeded, after a desperately fought contest, in carrying off the laurels. The Kawhia men were far superior to the local team in the matter of weight, and as the high wind prevailing made it essentially a forward game, their superiority in that respect contributed to their victory by nine points to three. Mr MoGrewer handled the game with his usual efficiency, his verdicts meeting general favour, and the was of a most friendly character throughout. The Kawhia team entertained their friends in the Royal Hotel at a dinner, after whinh a dance in the Public Hall coucluded the day's amusements.—(A Correspondent).
