KIHIKIHI TOWN BOARD

Tin? first meeting of the newly elected Board was held in the Town Half on Friday last. Preseut :—Messrs Corboy, Clifford, Elmsly, Grace and Moody. Cimikman.—On the motion of Mr Clifford, seconded by Mr Corboy, Mr \V. Grace was elected chairman. OoKKKSI'OMJ-NOK. —A letter was received from Mr Swarbriok, solicitor, Hamilton, ro defaulting ratepayers.— Also a letter from the Waipa County Council, stating tl/it the Board must defray half the oustif they wish to have a culvert at the function of Grey-street and Oliver-street (couuty road). TICNUEK —Mr McDonnell's tender of 9s 3d per chain, for repairs on Greystreet, being the only one received, it was resolved to call fresh tenders, returnable on October 13th, and that the Board visit the ground on Monday, October Bth, for the purpose of setting out the work and showiug the same to intending contractors. Repairs —lt was also resolved that the Board inspect and determine on tlie repairs to be made on BalUnee-strcet and Lyon-strcnt near Mr Dinneeu's property. Bai.axob-siikkt.— This, as certified by the Auditor-General, for thn year ending March Hint, 1000, wan read. OIIKQ'TKH. —Mr F. Corboy wan authorised to sign cheques for the Board in conjunction with the Chairman. Cotfriufer. — Mr Kennedy's contract on Leslie-street, having been completed, was duly passed. Accounts.
