SOCIAL AT TAUPIRI .
On Wednesday evening last, at the Taupiri Hall, a farewell social was tendered to Miss Lysaght prior to her leaving Tau piri to take up her new appointment as assistant teacher at Newmarket. Unfortunately the evening was a very wet one, but this did not prevent a large number of residents being present, and a very p'easant evening was spent. _ During the evening Mr A. H. Waring, in a very neat speech, complimented Miss Lysaght on the highly satisfactory manner in' which she hud carried out her duties as teacher while at Taupiri. Not only had she proved herself a competent teacher and gained the confidence and affection of the children, but had also earned the respect and esteem of their parents. Mr replying on behalf of Miss Lyiws'ljßthanked all present for their of feelings, and said she would always keep a warm corner in her heart f-pr Taupiri, and, although leaving for the present, would always look forward with pleasure to re-visiting the district
