After his retirement from the Imperial forces in 1878 Maj >r Min,,itr. was appointed Sub-Lspector to the Armed Constabulary, and was stationed for some years at Kihikihi In 1864 hwas married to the second daughter of the late Sir Frederick Whitaker, and his wife survives him. Deceased leaves ai grown-up family of two sons and three' aughters, the eldest of the Utter being married to Mr R. W. Dyer, solicitor, Hamilton. His eldest son is in the service of the N.Z. Insurance Co. at shanghai, and the other in the U.S.S. Co. The funeral will take place at Hamilton on Wednesday afternoon.
