MAJOR KEMP'S WILL

(BY TELEOKA.I'II— press association). Wellington, Last Night. The adjourned application by certain natives to have the titles of Horowhenua block No. 14, set aside, came before Judges Davy and Mackay this afternoon. Counsel for Wikitoria Kemp, said there would be no appearance on behalf of the successors of Major Kemp, one of the reasons being that the enormous cost to which Major Kemp had been put had practically absorbed his whole estate. Major Kemp's will was produced and the hearing of the applications was adjourned till proiiate had been given. The will provided that a full length portrait, in oils, of Major Kemp, is to be given to the town of Wanganui : that all his decorations (including his New Zealand Cross and the sword presented to him by the Queen) is to go to his nephew Harmukitirangi ; that his funeral expenses, not exceeding £IOO, are to be paid out of his estate ; that all the balance of Ins property, real and personal, is to go to his daughter upon trust, to convert it into money, and out of the proceeds to pay to Sir Walter Culler £O,BIO and interest at G per cent, for a debt owing, and, subject to that payment, to pay all other debts, and the balance to go to testator's daughter absolutely. The daughter was appointed to be executrix. The will is dated 15ch February, 1898.
