ST. JOHN’S CHURCH.
MEETING OF PARISHIONERS. The annual meeting of parishioners of St. John’s Church was held in the Parish Hall, Featherston, on Thursday last. All parts of the parish were represented. The Vicar, the Bov. W. J. Durrad, read a comprehensive report on the various activities of' the church, with special reference to the work of the Sunday Schools, and to the assistance rendered to the church by the choir and the Ladies’ Guild. The report of the vestry and the statement of receipts and expenditure were adopted. The statement disclosed a debit balarice at the end of the financial year, but it was explained that the z position had been remedied by the recent Garden Review. The need for more subscribers was, however, made apparent. The following officers were declared elected:—Vicar’s warden, Mr. D. H. 8. Riddiford; people’s warden, Mr. Mutter; members of vestry, Mrs. Algar 'Williams, Messrs R. W. Matthews, A. C. Pearce, Carne Bidwill, A. S. Kilsby, F. Smith, W. Willis, J. R. Matthews, 8. W. Booth and J. W. Holland. Mr. C. W. Ritchie was re-elected auditor, and a vote, of thanks for his past services was carried. Mr. Dur rad announced that the Bishop would be paying another visit to the parish on May 6, the occasion being the Patronal Festival. Supper was served by the members of the Ladies’ Guild.
