TE WHARAU. (“The Age” Special.) The second round of the trophy competition was played during the weekend by members of the Te Wharau Golf Club. The condmouß weit! U6t favourable for good golf. In the men’s division the best gross scores were returned by Gray 83 and K. Bannister 84, while the best net scores were those of R. Vennell 05 and C. Schofield 65. For the ladies Mrs. Schofield and Mrs. Nitz did best off the club with a gross score of 92 each, but the net scores were Mrs. McGregor 60 and Mrs. J. Bannister 61. In a Ni’mmo Cup challenge R. Bannister defeated F. McKinstry (holder) one up. Next Saturday afternoon the new holder defends a challenge from S. Gray. Next Saturday the third round will be played. On Thursday afternoon lady members will play the first round for the Kummerstein Cup.
