INDIANA ARRESTS.
MAYOR OF TERRE HAUTE SUED FOR DAMAGES.
BY COMMUNIST CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENCY.
(Received Thursday, 7.30 p.m.) TERRE HAUTE (Indiana), Oct. 7, Mr. Browder, Communist candidate for the Presidency, to-day sued the Mayor and Chief of Police of Terre Haute for 50,000 dollars, alleging loss of time, false arrest and malicious pro-' cecution.
'(A message last week stated that Mr. Browdar and four of his colleagues had been arrested in Terre Haute on a charge of vagrancy. The Mayor, a Republican, stated that he would not allow Communism to be established in Terre Haute. Mr. Browder and his colleagues were speedily released).
