BRIGHT CONCERT.

FOUR FLAYS BY ST. MATTHEW’S GIRLS’ CLUB. HIGH STANDARD SET. The annual concert of the St. Matthew ’s Girls ’ Club, which was presented in the Parish Hall last night, was an immediate success and the high standard set in past years notwithstanding, the audience voted it one of the best performances ever put on by the talented girls of this club. Four plays were included in the programme and provided amusement and laughter in plenty. The performance will be repeated at the Martinborough Town Hall to-night, at the School Hall Taueru on October 13 and at the Epiphany Hall, Kuripuni on October 20. The casts of the plays, which were produced under the able direction of Mrs E. J. Rich were:—

Vincent; Detective (in plain clothes), Miss A. Winhall.

Musical interludes were played by Misses J. Grantham and F. Youngquest The Rev. E. J. Rich thanked the girls for their wonderful entertainment. He said the club had had a very successful season. It had done good work for many years not only on the social side but it had also set out to help the church every year. He congratulated the girls on the excellent standarc! of their performance.
