COLONIES WANTED.

APPLICATION by POLAND TO LEAGUE. UNABLE TO SUPPORT POPULATION. WARSAW, July 31. Contending that she is unable to support her population within her present frontiers, Pbland proposes to bring a claim for colonies before the League of Nations. A communique from the Polish Foreign Office states that Poland shows the greatest natural increase in population in Europe, and states that it is the duty of the League to deal with the problem of the vast territories in South Africa and South America which are almost uninhabited and could be given to Poland for colonisation. It is also suggested that England and France should provide capital under the guarantee of the League. The claim for colonies has been urged for some time, but this is the first official demand. It is believed that Italy has promised support for the claim.
