McMAHON EPISODE
ACCUSED GIVES EVIDENCE. COMMITTED FOB TRIAL. (Received This Day, 1.47 a.m.) LONDON, July 31. At the resumption of the trial of George Andrew McMahon on chargee arising out of the episode on the occasion of the King's procession in London on July 16, McMahon himself was the °“ly witne« called for the defence. He give lengthy evidence regarding the persecution to which be considered he had been subjected. He denied having ever intended to harm his Majesty, but ■aid he had thought of shooting him, self. He threw the pistol and it “slithered along the footway.” He •aid he did not throw it in the directton Of his Majesty’s horse. McMahon was committed for trial on all three charges.
