BABY COMPETITION.
LEADING NUMBERS IN VARIOUS CLASSES. MITCH INTEREST IN PLUNKET POLL. Interest in the Masterton Plunket Society’s Beautiful Baby Photographic competition is quickening and yesterday, in spite of the bleak weather, Large numbers of residents were to be seen inspecting the photographs, which are on view at Messrs Hugo and Shearer’s Showroom and in one of the W.F.C.A’s. windows. An anonymous donor has given a sum of £5 to the society in appreciation of the splendid work being accomplished by the local ladies. In some instances grandfathers are taking a sporting interest in the competition and are jpstituting a regular campaign on behalf of their grandchildren. At the close of voting yesterday the leading competitors in the various classes were:—Under six months, 20, 8, 16; under twelve months, 44, 42, 48; 12 months to 2 years, 32, 42, 68; 2 to 4 yrs., 18, 91, 56; 4 to 6 yrs., 28, 6, 10; twins, 12; families, 5.
