MASTERTON BEATS EKETAHUNA. Before a good attendance of spectators, Masterton Ijeat Eketahuna in a wrestling contest at Eketahuna on Wednesday night by 3 wins to 1, 3 bouts being drawn. The following were the results:—-R. Southey beat Kewley by 2 falls; H. Tozes drew with A. Neilson, no falls; Edwards drew with F. Searanche, no falls; P. Simonsen lost to J. Searanche, 1 fall; H. Russell beat T. Neilson, 1 fall; H. Hill beat L. Cooper, 1 fall; R. Southey drew with Faulkner, no falls. A special 8-round contest between Edwar#s and Hutchison resulted in a draw, one fall each. In the third round Edwards twice threw Hutchison heavily to the mat with body holds and trapped him with a figure fon r-arm scissors and arm bar, and took the first fall. In the seventh round, Edwards forced Hutchison on the ropes and tried for a crotch hold, but missed. As he stepped back Hutchison let go with a beautiful tackle which ©aught Edwards square in the side. In getting back, Edwards appeared to hurt his leg and did not get out of the way of the next one, which connected. Edwards crawled half-way out of the ring but Hitchison pulled him back by one leg, fell on him and pinned him with a body press, amidst great excitement. Neither could gain the advantage in the last round. Edwards had to receive medical attention in the ring, but fortunately his knee was not badly hurt.
