CHRISTCHURCH, July 29. Normal entries were forward to-day at the Addington market. There was a sharp recovery in fat sheep values, while fat cattle were a shade dearer for cows and heifers. The store sheep entry of nearly 3000, of which more than half were hoggets, met a keen sale. Ewe hoggets made to 33/6, wether hoggets to 20/3, forward wethers to 24/, good sound-mouthed three-quarterbred ewes to 32/6, failing-mouthed to 22/. Fat sheep: Owing partly to a smaller entry in the fat sheep penning, 4000 as against 5200 last week, there was a sharp recovery of from 1/6 to 2/6 a head for fat sheep. Best wethers sold to 41/7, prime heavy 32/ to 35/, me-dium-weight prime 27/ to 31/, others down to 24/; best ewes to 35/10, good 27/ to 29/, medium 23/ to 26/, inferior down to 17/. Fat cattle: 470 were penned and met a sound sale. Top price for steers, £l6 12/6; good, £ll/15/ to £l3/10/; prime medium-weight, £9/10/ to £ll/5/; others, down to £6; best heifers, to £l2 6/6; good, £6 to £9/5/; best cows, to £ll/7/6; good, £6 to £B/10/; others, down to £4/5/. Best beef made 29/ to 33/ per 1001 b. Fat pigs: Porkers were slightly weaker and baeoners unchanged..
