WEDDINGS

JENSEN—FOX. The marriage took place at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Pahiatua, on Wednesday, July 22, the contracting parties being Miss Ivy Muriel Fox, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Fox, and Mr. Walter Henry Jensen, youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. N. P. Jensen, of Lansdowne, Masterton. The ceremony was p-erformed by the Rev. H. Wilson, Vicar of Pahiatua, and Mrs. J. D. C. Crewe presided at the organ. The church was decorated by friends of the bride with narcissis, snowdrops and holly. The bride was given away by her father, and was a very charming figure in her beautiful gown of rich creme satin. Set off with the newest Bishop sleeves, the frock was shirred at the shoulders into a pleated heading and finished at the wrist with a narrow band. The skirt was cut on classical tines, with a back panel of deep shirring to correspond with the shoulders, thus giving the long train a full effect. The neckline was finished with a slightly draped cowl, and the bride wore a plaited girdle at her waist with, long tassels. Her veil was of plain sheer tulle, being held in position by a narrow band of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of cream dahlias, freezias and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her two sisters, Misses Nora (chief) and Peggy Fox, who were frocked alike in forget-me-not blue dove skin satin cut on simple lines, with silver leaves at the square neckline and also in their hair. They wore silver girdles round their waists, and had shoes to match, while their bouquets were made in pastel-shaded flowers, which finished off a very pretty toilet. Mr. W. Erickson, of Dannevirke, attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr. C. Dumbleton, of Nireaha, was groomsman. Messrs F. Jensen and K. Taylor, of Pahiatua, acted as ushers.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the Masonic Hall, where Mrs. Fox received some 70 guests, who came from Pahiatua, Stratford, Feilding, Wellington and Dannevirke. Mrs. Fox was dressed in a stylish wine-coloured frock, relieved with gold trimmings and hat to match. She carried a bouquet of cyclamen and autumn leaves. Mrs. Jensen (the bridegroom’s mother) wore a smart frock of black marocain, trimmed with black and white, and her hat and coat was toned to match. She carried a bouquet of lavender and violets. After the reception, which was presided over by Mr. A. P. Jensen, the young couple left by car on their honeymoon, the bride being attired in a smart tweed costume with bottle green hat and smocked blouse, with shoes and gloves to tone. DAN -LEIL—(LO Y £.
