WON BY AVONDALE. LONDON, July 29. On the second day of the Goodwood Meeting the following was the result of the Goodwood Stakes, a handicap sweepstakes with £lOOO added; second £l5O, third £75; about 2 miles and 3 furlongs:-—Lady Helen McCalmont’s b m Avondale, by Yutoi—Mademoiselle Mai, by Oppressor, Byi*s., 1; Mrs. W. P. Ahern’s ch m Cho-sen, by Prince Galahad—Chaucer’® Choice, 4yrs., 2; A. F. Davis’s ch g Corona-Corona, by Coronach—Piazza, 6yrs., 3. Sixteen starters. Won by two lengths, a head between second and third. Winner bred in Ireland by Mr. J. J. Tobin, and trained by the Hon. G. Lambton at Newmarket.
